In today's news, the most recent shots of Xi are three decades old -Nice old Kodachrome shots, but still -Is the paramount one resting on his laurels or fighting for his life politically or otherwise?
Xi has gone missing from the news three days straight. He’s gone missing before, and he’s gone missing longer, most notably last August when there were no fresh pictures of his eminence for several grueling weeks as he disposed of Foreign Minister Qin Gang, Defense Minister Li Shangfu and other alleged conspiracies against his leadership. He also kept a low profile at that tumultuous time, at least in part, for the superstitious reason that he did not want his name or image associated in any way with the inauspicious floods that were inundating North China in early August to the point of lapping on the fringes of fortress Beijing.
So, now, as the weather is wintry and the Spring Festival approaches, where’s Xi?
