Today’s news is good news about China (represented by the cuddly panda and a set of Chinese nature shots) and Chinese exploration of space. The bad news is mostly about the huge non-panda populated regions of earth known as the rest of the world.
China’s space program has progressed by leaps and bounds, currently boasting several rocket launches a month, a brand new space station, several successful unmanned moon shots and the landing of remote vehicle on Mars. CCTV’s domestic focus today is mostly future projects in space, including a moon base, thus the simulations below.
It’s no longer a question of playing catch-up with the US, which for a long while seemed to have an unbeatable lead, but more about whether the US can keep up, let alone maintain it’s lead, with so formidable and fast-rising a competitor.
