CCTV FOLLIES 5.3 CHINESE PROPAGANDA FOR WHITE PEOPLE!!!
The bright light of Xi Jinping Thought is made to shine upon shared humanity! -Serbia gets the deep CCTV treatment -Hungary loves Xi initiatives -France is effusive in Gallic praise -Xi is charmant!
Today’s news is sparse in actual news content, but that has never posed a problem for CCTV. The holiday weekend is part of the reason to keep things light. The other reason is that the bulk of today’s “news” constitutes an information-bombing of Europe, softening up potential sites suitable for expanding Chinese influence and control.
Naturally Serbia tops the list.
Imagine one of CCTV’s typical moving tributes to the power of Xi Jinping Thought which is daily fare in the domestic news. (Not just daily, most often several times a day, but I digress)
Now, juxtapose the same brilliant editorial techniques to a country inhabited by hardy Caucasians. How about a heartwarming human interest piece about how Xi singlehandedly turned around the fortunes of a factory in a foreign country?
You got it!
A sunny, summing up shot to show how deeply and effectively the CCP has penetrated the Caucasian zone.
The opening shot is a factory gate in Serbia. It’s a sight the CCTV crew can relate to, and comprehend the visual power of, because everything in China has gates.
The factory looks suitably industrial, Stalinesque and grotesque which sets the stage for a set piece about hardy Stakhanovite workers.
It was just another sad, decrepit factory in the old communist bloc until Xi Jinping visited PERSONALLY in 2016 and turned the place around with a few modest and self-effacing words of advice, best summed up in this stunning thunderbolt of wisdom:
“Belt and Road”
But wait! There’s more!
Xi Jinping isn’t one of those politicians who just shows up for the photo op and disappears from the hardy life of hardy workers forever. He’s the kind of everyday, decent working class guy who likes to keep in touch with fellow toilers. And lo and behold, just this past week, the workers at the factory received a missive from Xi!
How blessed they must feel! Xi surprised them (and the world) with a personalized note in response to the unsolicited praise they had been pestering him with.
A real letter! On paper! From the paramount one! All the way from China!
“Serbian employees of HBIS Group’s Smedelevo Steel Plant said that they were encouraged by receiving President Xi Jinping’s reply letter. They sincerely thanked President Xi for his encouragement and care, and expressed their sincere gratitude for the future development and joint construction of the plant. "One Belt, One Road" is full of confidence.”
ed. note: (The precious letter is probably framed and on display already, though there is an argument to keep in under lock and key due to its inestimable value)
“Iniatovich, the steel plant employee representative, called his colleagues as soon as he learned the news of Chairman Xi's reply letter. They said they were very excited to receive Chairman Xi's reply letter and eagerly looked forward to the opportunity to tell Chairman Xi the development and changes of the steel plant in person.”
Spontaneously and lasting applause follows in the presence of Chinese handlers.
In such situations, it’s important to know when to clap and for how long. Best to keep an eye on the official Chinese clapper in charge of choreography)
It’s hard to find words that do justice to the Serb worker enthusiasm in the wake of taking receipt of a letter from Xi, but it’s profound. This man is moved with emotion.
“Workers at the steel plant said that the good development of the plant has allowed them to see the tangible results brought by the joint construction of the “Belt and Road Initiative” and that they are full of hope for the future.”
CCTV then corrals the factory workers for one of those group pictures in matching attire that it uses to great effect in domestic news stories.
Wave at the camera! Act happy! Act as happy as happy Chinese workers!
“Our nation has made the right determination!
We have found light at the end of the tunnel!
We have a bright future!”

ed. note: (Some photo grabs from the top stories of the day leading into this piece just to put things in context)

Back to Serbia (and the future)
This man describes the joy of the moment when the workers realized Xi had taken time away from his busy job of running China (and increasingly, much of the Third World and some outposts in Europe) to answer their humble letter:
IT’S SUCH GOOD NEWS! IT MAKES ONE HAPPY BEYOND BELIEF! WE WERE STIMULATED TO WRITE HIM BECAUSE HE HAS DONE SO MUCH TO TURN AROUND OUR FORTUNES!

And now it’s time for lunch. Big men of steel have steely appetites. They eat anything.
But if China really wants to up its game, they should send over a few chefs and really win over the much put-upon workers with some decent Chinese food.
It’s totally natural for a Serbian factory in Serbia to be flying the Chinese flag, why shouldn’t they? And it’s first among equals.
And now CCTV turns its jaundiced gaze to France with an epic establishing shot.
The “typical” French interviewed by CCTV are overcome with Gallic enthusiasm for China. Some are trembling with excitement, almost speechless, about Xi’s visit.
Monsieur Xi coming here? eet eez so impor-tant.
Nice montage of fabulous French architecture, in which two out of four shots focus on the work of a China-born architect.
ed. note: (I.M. Pei, a Shanghai immigrant to America, had some serious differences with the PRC way of doing things, especially after Tiananmen 1989, but he persevered and prospered.)

And now the CCTV crew moves on to Hungary, where they discover to their delight another country full of white people who are full of praise for Chairman Xi.
“We warmly welcome Chairman Xi to visit our Budapest.”
“Sino-Hungarian cooperation is superb!”
“Here in Hungary, we’re big believers in Xi’s Belt and Road!”
Xi’s initiatives are a win-win proposition!”

And on that winning note, this lovely piece of propaganda about white people for white people made in China by the master influencers at CCTV sadly draws to a conclusion. But fear not. There will be more in the days ahead!
There was virtually no newsworthy news in today’s news cycle, and the usual US update was dropped completely. Thus the hard-working editors had no need to make hard judgments about whether or not to air vivid footage of US demonstrations and the sweeping crackdown coverage. To date, they’ve been sweeping it under the rug for fear of reminding viewers of the mother of all China demonstrations, the anniversary of which is a month from today.
