CCTV FOLLIES 6.5 Rainbows over China
Be grateful to Xi and the CCP! China essence: consistency, originality, uniformity, inclusivity, and peaceful nature! -Thai Princess visits -Bumper wheat crop -Dmitry Peskov: the US is so unfair!
The first section of today’s news is a visual delight, but utterly devoid of news value unless you are willing to see all these pretty scenes as illustrations of the CCP line.
“Experts and scholars in the relevant fields said that under the guidance of the speech by Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, efforts should be made to shoulder the new cultural mission of further promoting cultural prosperity and developing a great culture in China and a modern Chinese civilization from a new starting point. At Friday's meeting, Xi summarized five prominent features regarding Chinese civilization -- consistency, originality, uniformity, inclusivity, and peaceful nature.” (Xinhua)
Chinese culture takes off in brilliant new directions under the sage leadership of Xi.
The natural world owes the CCP a big thank you, too, as it has done so much for the environment. Xi thinks about the environment often.
Chinese culture is the base upon which the New Era of Xi Jinping is being built.
The paramount leader has been talking about culture at a very profound, expansive and high level in his well-received discussions lately.
A Xinjiang museum researcher reminds viewers:
“Do not forget history if you want to open up the future.”*
*note: It is permissable to forget history selectively, especially bloody and destructive historic incidents in which the CCP was on the wrong side of history
The huge, bloody crackdown at Tiananmen in 1989, for example, though only faintly remembered this week outside of China, and only barely so in Hong Kong where it used to be commemorated with great passion, is to the CCP, a non-event not worth talking about. There are probably some episodes of Xinjiang history not being talked about, too, despite the sweeping statement from Ye-er-mi-la below.
One need only take a look at the cool space-age building below to realize how the CCP inspires the blossoming of modern Chinese culture. Case closed.
The CCP under Xi is the perfect steward for China’s natural and man-made splendor.
“As Secretary General Xi Jinping indicated in his most recent discussion about the construction of Chinese culture…”
CCTV treats its viewers to a whirlwind tour of China not unlike the China Travel itineraries back in the 1980s. There’s the famous Nine Dragon Screen at Beihai, the Forbidden City, the Yangtse River Bridge at Nanjing, the Great Wall, and of course, pandas.
And don’t forget Houhai. That’s a nice place, too.
In diplomatic news, CCTV continues its artful coverage in which foreigners appear to be humble supplicants begging advice and taking notes from China’s sage leaders, in this case Li Qiang dispensing pearls of wisdom to Germany’s Lars Klingbeil.
