CCTV FOLLIES 8.1 PLA hopelessly devoted to Xi

August 1 is PLA Day and it’s a PLA Day unlike others as Xi Jinping has just replaced the two top generals in charge of country’s nuclear forces and is continuing to root out what is called corruption but may be just plain disloyalty at very high levels in an ongoing crackdown on his own military. So naturally it’s a good time to show that he’s completely in charge (whether he is or not) and every soldier is devoted to him and his word is their command and they are willing to die for him. PLA jets, rockets, boats, submarines and trucks run not just on fuel but Xi Jinping Thought. Some images below from today’s lengthy tribute to the PLA, which is, on CCTV, like so many other things, really just another way of showing direct and indirect tribute to Xi Jinping.

Seeing Xi in the cockpit is more worrying than reassuring, but maybe it’s symbolic.

Soldiers profess their loyalty to Xi and the inspiration they derive thereof.

“Chairman Xi Jinping issued an instruction on flood prevention and disaster relief work on Tuesday, ordering all-out search and rescue efforts to save those missing or trapped in floods and geological disasters caused by Typhoon Doksuri. Xi, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, also called for efforts to minimize casualties."
